The record group includes minutes of chapter meetings, chapter membership records and catalogs (directories) and bulletins and histories of the national society which include sections on the Pi chapter. The two history history, "The first half century of Nu Sigma Nu: 1882-1932," Published by the Nu Sigma Nu fraternity, 1953, has a chapter on the Washington University Pi chapter. The chapter voucher books are biographical data sheets organized by the date each member was initiated. Membership data can also be found in the minute books.

The Pi chapter of the Nu Sigma Nu was a student medical fraternity located at the Washington University School of Medicine. The chapter began as the Alpha Kappa Phi, a local medical fraternity of the Missouri Medical College, a predecessor of Washington University School of Medicine.
